Gemma is a socially engaged photographer specialising in documentary storytelling. Her work focuses on youth issues, migration, identity and belonging. She has published and exhibited work in the UK, China, Spain, Germany, and Russia. Gemma also works as a freelance educator and runs participatory photography and digital storytelling workshops for young people and marginalised groups. She lived in China for two years, and can speak conversational Mandarin.

Dr David Forrest is Faculty Project Officer at The University of Sheffield. His research explores British realist cinema and television; arts and health; community and filmmaking practice; narrative and everyday life; and inclusive learning and teaching. He currently co-runs Storying Sheffield, with Dr Brendan Stone, which pairs long term residents of the city with undergraduates at the The University of Sheffield to reflect and produce narrative representations of the city.
